In this key leadership role, you will set the transaction product strategy, directly oversee deal execution, and continuously refine our processes in partnership with Operations, Product, and Advisory teams. You'll marry hands-on deal management with a visionary approach to product development, ensuring Baton delivers exceptional outcomes for buyers and sellers in a high-touch, emotionally charged market.We're looking for a leader who thrives on working at the intersection of product, people, and process. You'll spearhead new features, optimize transaction workflows, and mentor a team of M&A Advisors-all while keeping a close eye on deal metrics to inform product improvements. This is a chance to shape the future of Baton's marketplace platform, leading a function where empathy, technology, and analytical rigor converge to bring meaningful results for Main Street and lower-middle market business owners.On a Day-to-Day Basis You WillDefine the Transaction Product Strategy: Own the vision and roadmap for how Baton's M&A platform manages transactions, collaborating with Product and Operations to prioritize the most impactful features and improvements.Guide & Mentor Your Team: Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to M&A Advisors and Operations team members, ensuring success across all deal stages.Manage Deals Hands-On: Roll up your sleeves to work directly on transactions, gaining insights into seller and buyer needs while informing product enhancements with real-world feedback.Refine Workflows & Tools: Partner with Operations and Product to streamline processes, build new tools, and drive efficiency and scalability in the transaction lifecycle.Dig into Complex Operations: Dive into challenging transaction issues, applying product thinking to create better systems and workflows.Measure Performance & Provide Feedback: Establish KPIs, monitor deal metrics, and offer data-driven insights to help the M&A team continually improve.Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with the Product team to enhance platform features that support transactions and with Operations to ensure seamless back-end processes.Scale Our M&A Capabilities: Develop strategies for handling increased deal volume and complexity while maintaining a product-centric approach.Advocate for Users: Serve as the voice of both buyers and sellers, ensuring Baton's platform and services address their needs at every step of the transaction.About YouM&A & Transaction Exposure: You've been deeply involved in multiple M&A or investment deals-whether as a founder handling an exit, a VC overseeing portfolio investments, or a key product leader integrating acquisitions into a larger organization. You're comfortable navigating the entire transaction lifecycle, from strategy to close.Human-Centered Approach: You possess world-class emotional intelligence.
