Committed to our mission-driven approach, we believe in building meaningful relationships, embracing challenges as opportunities, and inspiring and being inspired every day.Position: Individualized Support Specialist Supervisor (ISS Supervisor) - Residential ServicesSummary: Block Institute is seeking a dedicated and experienced Individualized Support Specialist Supervisor (ISS Supervisor) to join our Residential Services team. The ISS Supervisor will oversee the Individualized Support Specialists (ISS), ensuring the development and implementation of person-centered Residential Habilitation Plans and services. This role involves training, advising, and supervising ISS staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with the Residential Managerial team and clinicians.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee the provision of active treatment and residential habilitation services in DD residential programs.Ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, consistent with person-centered planning.Ensure services are delivered in a manner appropriate to individual needs, including cultural and religious preferences, strengths, and unique interests.Ensure programmatic compliance with all pertinent city, state, and federal regulations, including OPWDD standards.Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training residential ISS staff in conjunction with Program Coordinators and management.Conduct bi-monthly meetings with ISS staff for updates, coordination, and training.Provide individual technical assistance and training to ISS staff.Coordinate execution of ISS tasks during temporary vacancies, including essential job tasks and team participation.Provide residential management staff with training, strategy consultation, and guidance.Develop oversight strategies for residential teams to ensure service delivery.Ensure ISS participation in person-centered planning and Life Plan development.Collaborate regularly with the Total Quality Management Department regarding standards and practices.Liaise with the Finance department on billing compliance issues.Liaise with outside provider agencies to resolve documentation discrepancies.Provide feedback to the Director and Assistant Director of Programs on habilitation services quality.Coordinate cluster schedule with Program Coordinators and maintain a flexible schedule for critical or emergency needs.Participate in departmental and agency committees and special projects.Assist in agency-wide training as requested.Represent the agency in a manner that promotes its values, goals, and mission.Ensure staff responsiveness to cultural differences in the service population.Undertake tasks and initiatives as assigned by upper administration.QualificationsQualifications and Abilities:Bachelor's degree in health, human services, or special education; Master's degree preferred.Proficiency in English is required to perform essential job functions, including preparing written reports, understanding safety instructions, and communicating with individuals we serve and your team members.Minimum of three years' experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.Supervisory and training experience preferred.Working knowledge of NYS OPWDD Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) and Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) regulations.Proficiency in English is required to perform essential job functions, including preparing written reports, understanding safety instructions, and communicating with clients or team members.Good interpersonal skills.Proficiency in using current computer technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Therap.Training in the Council for Quality Leadership's Personal Outcome Measures evaluation tool preferred.Ability to work well with multiple and diverse personalities.Benefits:Medical and dental insurance.Paid time off - vacation and sick leave.Life insurance.403(b) retirement muter benefits plan.Voluntary benefits such as critical care, disability, and additional life insurance.If you are dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities and possess the qualifications for this rewarding role, we encourage you to apply.
