The supervisor has a hands-on leadership role in the company and the company's product-making activities. Production Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities:Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve results in all areasWorks to continuously improve in all areasProvides regular progress reports to managerEnsures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and developmentMakes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolutionPerforms accident investigationsTracks absenteeism and timekeepingAccomplish manufacturing staff results by planning, monitoring, communicating job expectations and appraising job results; counseling, disciplining and coaching employees; coordinating, initiating, and enforcing systems, procedures, and policiesMaintain staff by recruiting, orienting, selecting, and training employees; and developing personal growth opportunities in themMaintain workflow by setting process variables, monitoring steps of the process; observing equipment and control points; monitoring resources and personnel; developing reporting systems and procedures, studying methods; facilitating corrections to malfunctions, implementing cost reductions; initiating and developing a spirit of cooperation between and within departmentsEnsure operation of equipment by evaluating new equipment and calling for repairs of old onesProvide manufacturing information by sorting, initiating, compiling, and analyzing production performance data and recordsEducate and direct employees on the use of equipment, all control points, and resourceHandle any minor tasks related to the roleProduction Supervisor Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Minimum three years leadership experience highly preferredMinimum three years in manufacturing environments highly preferredLeadership - the ability to command and maintain attention of those you are overseeingEffective communication - the ability to convincingly convey instructions, directions, and details to othersExperience - knowledge of OSHA and other governmental regulations; incident and accident preventionAttention to detail - the ability to manage all duties, rules, documentation, and other components of the job with focus and accuracyConfidentiality - the ability to protect data, information, and employee privacyCompassion - the ability to be concerned for another person's well beingOrganization - an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyCollaborative - an ability to work with diverse personalities for a tangible and beneficial outcomeBilingual strongly preferredProduction Supervisor Physical Demands and Working Conditions: This role operates in a wet and coldrefrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures This is largely a static role with standing, however, the ability to perform repetitive bending and standing up is also required. This would require the ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally. Depending on area, must also be able to pushpull up to 250 lbs on rollers occasionally."Upon offer of employment, candidates will be asked to complete a drug screening test.
