Job Type Full-timeDescriptionABOUT THE POSITION:The UD Team Attendance Coordinator will analyze student attendance and take both preventative actions as well as make interventions to increase daily student attendance.ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:Urban Dove Team Charter School (UD Team) is a distinctive network of sports-based high schools catering to over-aged, under-credited youth. We fuse a robust academic curriculum with sports-based youth development, ensuring our graduates receive a diploma, a stepping stone for higher education, and essential job skills.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:Analyze school wide data on a daily, weekly, and monthly basisIn collaboration with the Family Engagement Coordinator, engage and provide support to families and students that need assistance with getting their children to schoolConduct daily outreach via phone calls and home visitsSchedule parent meetingsLead Attendance Task ForceCollaborate with homeroom teams to increase student attendanceAssist in compiling student records (birth certificates, transfers, immunizations) for meeting state requirementsMaintain a variety of attendance records, schedules, and files for the purpose of documenting andor providing reliable informationPerform enrollment and un-enrollment activitiesConsult and collaborate with teachers regarding student behavior plans, goals, and objectivesPrepare a variety of reportsRespond to inquiries from a variety of individualsInvestigate students who leave the district without verificationMake referrals to outside prevention agenciesFollow up with families of students who have been expelled and assist with finding new placement as neededMaintain and update the LTA listServe as a mentor for a small group of studentsWork evenings and weekends as neededMust have valid driver's license and be willing to drive on occasion Requirements Bachelor's DegreeExperience in schools preferredTransfer School experience a plusDemonstrated ability to "multi-task" and deliver high quality workDesire to devise programming to address the unique needs of our populationCommitment to the UD Team mission and core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and CommunicationCommitment to the use of restorative practices and a strength-based, youth development approach to student issuesAbility to function well as part of a team and work independentlyMust be team-oriented, with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a passion for serving at-risk youth, and a sense of humorOUR MISSION:Urban Dove energizes, educates, and empowers young people through our network of UD Team Charter Schools serving over-ageunder-credited high school students.
