Excellent music education is core to our mission. In addition to music classes, we are proud to provide our students with lessons in violin, viola, cello, and piano. To achieve our vision, we are searching for a Full-time ViolinViola Teacher with a Bachelor's Degree, and at least 2-4+ years of relevant teaching experience. If you are passionate about music, love working with motivated students, and are interested in improving educational equity in New York City, come and teach violin & viola with us!Responsibilities:Teach weekly instrumental lessons to students across all 4 campuses. Lessons are either individual or for groups of up to 4 students Lessons are 30 minutes in length, taught during the school dayTeach violin club (up to 12 students) Club meetings are scheduled in the afternoons between 3:30 and 4:30 PM two days per weekClub activities include ensemble playing, music theory, musicianship, and music appreciation Teach from Essential Elements for Strings and Suzuki Method books Supplement method book materials with repertoire, improvisation, or composition activities, according to interestCommunicate with family members at least three times per semester to share progress and set goals for at-home practicePrepare all students for juries performed for outside examiners and showcase performancesJoin our purpose-driven community Zeta teammates are lifelong learners who live with child-like joy and a deep sense of purpose. The salary range for this position is between $62,000 to $94,000. New hires can expect to be brought into the organization at a salary at or near the start of the range, depending on relevant experience teaching in schools.
