We invite you to review our current professional staff openings to learn about the opportunities available across the firm.The OpportunityWe are seeking an Assistant Director, Alumni Relations. This position will be based in our New York office (hybrid). The Assistant Director, Alumni Relations is responsible for the management and further development of Skadden's attorney alumni program. The role coordinates with key stakeholders across multiple departments including, but not limited to, Business Development and Marketing, Attorney Development and Human Resources, and establishes regular touch points with practice and office leaders globally to develop targeted programming for the Firm's attorney alumni network. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Oversees and manages the global alumni database (based in InterAction).Manages the day-to-day operations of the alumni program and team.Partners with key stakeholders across practices and offices to identify opportunities for alumni outreach.Responsible for maintaining an overseeing content on the Skadden alumni website.Collaborates with the editorial team on bi-annual issues of the Skadden alumni magazine.Coordinates with attorney development on offerings to alumni (CLE programming, job boards, etc.), and works to enhance and expand on such offerings.Works with current Skadden attorneys to establish primary partner contacts for departed attorneys.Develops metrics for measuring the success of the alumni program, and in doing so, use those metrics to further identify opportunities for business development and the expansion of the program.Provides quarterly summary of alumni job changes.Tracks referrals that have come to the Firm via alumni.Recommends innovative approaches to deliver department services in more efficient and effective ways.Establishes collaborative partnerships across departments to strengthen mutual interests, reduce operational redundancies, and to engage our professionals in work that supports Skadden's business priorities.Has significant independence in the role and may independently manage certain aspects of the department's functions.Understands business needs and identifies alternatives on a quantitative and qualitative basis.Convenes groups in formal and informal dialogue to support strong relationships across the Firm and fluid sharing of priorities, knowledge and best practices. Participates in collaborative and high-level projects as needed. Prepares and presents internal programs as applicable. Engages in strategic (i.e., long-range) planning by developing departmental goals and supporting objectives for assigned department(s).Ensures accurate and timely responses to requests for departmental services.Forecasts financial and budget requirements for the department, prepares related reports, and monitors the budget.Oversees employees' work performance and provides guidance in the resolution of problems.
