We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Med-Surg Nurse Manager to lead our medical-surgical nursing unit. This position is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on patient care while leading a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.Job Summary:The Med-Surg Nurse Manager will oversee the daily operations of the medical-surgical nursing unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while managing staff, implementing evidence-based practices, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will work closely with other healthcare teams, drive quality improvement initiatives, and foster a positive and collaborative work environment. This leadership role also includes overseeing budgeting, staffing, and patient advocacy responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:Clinical Leadership:Oversee patient care delivery on the med-surg unit, including admission, assessment, treatment planning, and discharge processes.Monitor patient status, identify complications, and coordinate necessary interventions.Ensure nursing staff is delivering safe, effective care in line with established protocols and standards.Staff Management:Hire, train, and supervise a team of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).Provide ongoing performance evaluations, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff.Address staff concerns, resolve conflicts, and ensure a positive and supportive work environment.Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient patient care.Quality Improvement:Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement in patient care and staff performance.Implement evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives within the unit.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient satisfaction, safety, and quality of care.Administrative Tasks:Manage the unit budget, including resource allocation and cost control.Collaborate with other hospital departments (pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy) to ensure coordinated patient care.Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.Prepare reports and documentation as required by hospital administration.Patient Advocacy:Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers.Address patient concerns and advocate for their needs to ensure optimal care.Required Qualifications:Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Significant experience in medical-surgical nursing practice.Proven leadership and management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Why Join Us?A supportive and dynamic work environmentOpportunities for professional development and growthCompetitive salary and benefits packageFocus on quality care, patient safety, and staff well-beingIf you're a dedicated Med-Surg nurse with leadership experience, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care and contribute to the growth of our nursing team.
