Job DescriptionThe Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role within the accounting team, supporting various financial and accounting functions across the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting, coupled with excellent analytical skills. Success in this role requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual with strong problem-solving abilities, sound decision-making skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.Responsibilities include supporting the financial cycle by working closely with managers, assisting with audits, and monitoring key business metrics to inform operational decisions. The Senior Staff Accountant will also perform core accounting tasks such as journal entries, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, and accruals.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAPPrepare monthly journal entries and supporting work papers, performing account reconciliations, and maintain the general ledgerReview work prepared by staff accountants and help implement efficiencies in their work papersIdentify and implement improvements in the accounting processes, work papers, and reportingProvide support with the implementation of new accounting system and lead ad hoc accounting projects as they ariseAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisReview and analyze financial data for accuracy and completenessEnsure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policiesSupport external audits and tax filingsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processesAssist in financial planning and strategy developmentAssist with accounting department responsibilities as neededSelf DevelopmentParticipate in designated training programs to enhance knowledge and skills. Attends all scheduled training and informational sessions, monthly meetings, cascade training calls and other meetings as assigned. Work EnvironmentThis is a hybrid position based out of our corporate office located in Irvine. Must be available to work in the office at least 2x per week or as needed to deliver high level of excellence.
