Looking for a Senior Engineer Protective Relay Strategy to join the protective relay strategy department and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to develop, test and manage protection and control system standards, including philosophy documents, relay settings guidelines, calculation sheets, relay configuration files, drawings, and test templates. In this role, you will study industry best practices and support technological advancements to enhance established standards, perform engineering analysis, evaluate new hardwaresoftware solutions, and support deployment of protection system upgrade programs. You will assist in the implementation of new strategies, initiatives, and processes to advance the design, operation, and reliability of P&C system. Must be comfortable working cross functionally with other sections in the department including asset management and remote monitoring and analytics of substation protection and control devices. Required Skills & Experience5+ years' experience in relay protection Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Strong technical competence and practical experience in the design of relay protection systems at transmission, sub-transmission, or distribution level. Working knowledge of PSSE CAPE, Aspen or equivalent fault study analysis tools.Experience performing relay settings in SEL, Hitachi, GE relays or similar.Utility industry experience.Must possess superior oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to influence others in order to improve the management process. Expertise in Microsoft Suite.Valid Driver's LicenseComfortable working 3 daysweek onsite in NYC Nice to Have Skills & ExperienceIndustry involvement with EPRI, NATF and other organizations on relay applications. Working knowledge of various microprocessor relay platforms, software, and IEC 61850 protocol.Experience in electrical transmission.Understanding of Hitachi relays.Master's Degree.
