Learn more at DescriptionKPFF's New York City office is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our team, working as part of our Los Angeles Civil team's satellite presence. In this role, you'll engage in a range of site development projects across both New York and Los Angeles, gaining experience in civil design for grading, drainage, utility systems, and hydrology and hydraulic calculations. This position is ideal for an engineer who is eager to grow and learn from a collaborative, cross-office team, contributing to impactful projects that enhance community infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Assist in the design and analysis of civil engineering projects, including grading, water and sewer systems, and storm drainage for site development. Conduct hydrology and hydraulic calculations to support stormwater and water management systems. Work with project team members across both New York and Los Angeles offices to ensure seamless project coordination and execution. Prepare design plans, reports, and technical documentation under the guidance of senior engineers. Participate in project meetings, supporting client interactions and project updates. Develop familiarity with local regulations and standards in both New York and Los Angeles to ensure project compliance. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. PE licensure in progress is a plus. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and basic knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis software. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset. Effective communication skills to work across teams and interact with clients. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or conducting site visits. Capacity to move around project sites, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain. Occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds of equipment or materials.Additional InformationCompensation: The base salary for this role is competitive with a starting salary of $80,000 determined by experience, education, and skills. KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions. Additional details about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
