The ideal candidate will have experience working in the art world, storagecollection management knowledge, and will be comfortable moving a wide range of art objects. The Art HandlerDriver will report to the Technical Services Supervisor.Core ResponsibilitiesProper handling of art objects, using the appropriate methods and materials for packaging, loading & securing for safe transportInstallde-install artworks onsite or at offsite locations, often troubleshooting and utilizing critical thinking to solution scope changesPreparation and careful execution of paperwork, including bills of lading, labels, driver logs, and detailed condition reports with accompanying photos if necessaryReceive and release shipments into warehouse facilitiesPack artworks for local, national and international transportation and storageMaintain compliance with all local, state, DOT regulationsSupport to internal teams, as neededWeekend, overtime, and holiday work may be necessary; therefore, schedule flexibility is requiredOther projects as assigned by ManagerQualifications & SkillsTeam Player, able to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented and dynamic environmentDemonstrated knowledge of installation, packing and art handlingExcellent communication and attention to detail to both clients and coworkersAbility to problem solve and solution onsite issues with the experience to know when to escalate problems to supervisorValid driver's license; CDL license a bonusAbility to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart, as well as 50 pounds without mechanical aidAbility to carry 40 pounds of varying size and shape up to a distance of 90 feetAbility to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overheadAbility to be exposed to outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snowFamiliarity with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies and other necessary warehouse equipmentThis in-person position requires on-site presence at UOVO's Long Island City, NY facility five days a week with occasional requests to work nights and on pensation & BenefitsUOVO offers competitive compensation, commensurate with experience.UOVO offers a robust suite of benefits including: 100% employer-covered medical plan option for team members as well as multiple Medical, Dental, and Vision plans options.2 weeks annual paid vacation, with bi-annual increased vacation awards throughout the first 5 years of service 10 paid holidays plus one additional floating holidayCompany-Sponsored Parental Leave policyCompany-Sponsored Paid Sick Leave 100% 401k Employer match up to 3% of team member contributions.Flexible Savings Account, Commuter Benefits, and Childcare BenefitsCompany-sponsored Life Insurance and Long Term Disability BenefitsMonthly Team Lunches and Birthday celebrationsTeam member Recognition Program ( the "Eggcellence Awards"
