This position reports to the General Manager and will work in Limerick, PAAs Engineering Manager of the Limerick team, you will oversee day to day operations of the engineering document management team as well as engineering teams supporting new product designs for marine mechanical steering, controls & cables.General Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the document control team including continuous improvement of processes for improved efficiencyDevelop and effectively lead the Marine Mechanical Steering & Controls design team to support product life cycle management and future growthLead in the designdevelopment of new products and assist in continuous improvement of existing productsManage engineering projects utilizing both internal and external resources as required for the development of Marine Steering & Controls marketed by Dometic per project timelinesLead the identification and development of new technologies to support revenue growth in Marine Mechanical Control & Steering productsDevelop, manage, and control project and departmental budgetsProvide technical expertise on projects including product development, improvements, cost reductions, and advanced researchAssure that the Dometic Product Development process is being followedServe as a local champion for Dometic's innovation processesProvide technical support for other areas of the company such as technical product information, customer service, purchasing, etcAssure that personnel are practicing design and drafting standards in accordance with company-recognized practices and maintain a secure and accurate databaseWork closely with the Product Managers to identify product improvement opportunitiesWork with the corporate VP of Engineering to ensure processes and standards are consistent with other locationsQualifications and experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required (mechanical engineer is ideal); Master's degree preferredExperience managing product development from concept to successful launch required (any product)Strong management, leadership, and mentoring skillsConsumer product design experience in mechanical product design and new product development experience, ideally with marine or allied industries7+ years related professional experience including 3+ years in managing direct reportsExperience in sheet metal, plastics, electronics, and low voltage electrical systems preferredExperience with engineering design software (3D, CREO or SolidWorks preferred)Strong proficiency with MS Office programs including: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; and the ability to learn other applications quicklyFamiliar with ERP systems to control engineering Bills of MaterialsExperience in design procedures, specifications, and engineering softwaresimulation toolsExperience with safety regulations (CSA, CE, and other regulatory requirementsKnowledge of industry standards such as SAE, ASTM, ISO, and familiarity with ISO9001User knowledge of QFD and Design and Process FMEAs including Design for ManufactureFamiliar with volume production processes including casting, extrusions, powder metal, injection molding, precision machining sheet metal fabrication, welding, and circuit board manufacturingStrong ability to produce reliable cost-effective designs for industrial applicationsUnderstanding of test methodology and design of experimentsFamiliarity with plastic injection molding processesWhat do we offer?You are offered an interesting role in a dynamic, fast paced and global environment with great opportunities to grow, evolve with the company and take on new challenges.MedicalDentalVision InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Disability insurance (STDLTD)401 (k) with company matchPTOCompany defined holidays and two floating holidays for you to use as you choosePaid maternitypaternity leaveTuition assistanceMembership reimbursement (wholesale club and gym)Employee discounts on our incredible productsOpportunities to make an impact
