Schedules cases with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail at all times and brings questions to the appropriate party.Accurately schedules surgical procedures as indicated by physicianphysician staff including date, procedure, time and amount of time needed.Accurately obtains all missing information needed from initial scheduling of caseDetermines the order in which the patients are scheduled, by reviewing procedures, time needed, and operating room available and schedules inpatients in accordance with Operating Room Committee guidelines. Schedules and maintains provider block times releases to ensure their availability for required surgeries. Schedules patient for emergent, urgent and elective surgeries based on staff and doctor's availabilities. Determines the order in which patients are scheduled and ensure that any emergent cases are fit into the schedule as a priority. Analyzes and verifies coding of procedures and diagnosis using ICD and CPT codes.Monitors tentative schedules for missing service appointments and discrepancies in type of room and equipment assigned for specific procedures and contacts appropriate service to confirm or resolve. Reviews and posts add-on cases and emergency cases to scheduling system as required. Participates in the OR daily huddle for final approval of the next day surgical schedule. Assists peri-operative leadership in coordinating OR schedule on a daily basis. Provides clinical data as requested by Director of Service, Chief of Surgery and Deputy Director.Prints OR final schedule and submits to nurse in charge and director of service. Communicates and collaborates with surgical team regarding financial and medical clearance.Adjusts operating room schedule according to written guidelines and communicates changes to peri-op leadership and surgical municates the need for special instruments, supplies and equipment to the coordinating manager and nursing staff. Reviews future surgical requests and maintains an ongoing schedule. Ensure that OR draft schedule is available 5 days ahead main OR and 14 days ahead endoscopy suite.Ensures preliminary schedule is available 1 hour prior to daily forms Directordesignee for bed needed for the following day (e.g. SDS, ICU, In-Patient).Does post charging as needed. Completes annual hospital mandatory requirements.GI Endoscopy Scheduler, Charged Post, Super UserGenerate Monthly Reports reflecting scheduling activity and case volume.Assists with referral management of inpatient and outpatient schedule from different MedicineSurgery units and other facilities.Minimum Qualifications1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and2. Two (2) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, one (1) year of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as MedicalLaboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician; or two (2) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including one (1) year in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or3. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in "1" above; and4. Three (3) years of full-time experience, as described in "2" above, including two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations, as listed in "2" above; or5.
