Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) graduate.Medical Requirements: The duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion andor duties of a hazardous nature. The following medical requirements apply to all applicants: Vision in both eyes. Uncorrected distance vision in each eye at least 2070 on Snellen scale, corrected to at least 2020 Snellen. Ability to distinguish basic colors and normal depth perception and peripheral vision. Hearing in both ears. Using an audiometer, there should be no loss of 25 or more decibels at the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz level in both ears. This represents the hearing required to perform public safety functions. If a hearing aid is necessary, suitable testing procedures shall be used to assure auditory acuity equivalent to the above requirement. Applicants must have the capacity to perform the essential functions of the position without risk to themselves or others, and they must possess emotional and mental stability.A physical examination is required prior to being hired for this position.All law enforcement personnel must successfully complete the following annual requirements: Physical examination conducted by a physician, provided by the DIACPentagon Health Clinic during the employee's birth month, in accordance with DIA law enforcement physical health standards, and an annual physical fitness evaluation test. Other Related Requirements: All law enforcement personnel must maintain the following: semi-annual firearms proficiency standards as delineated in DIAI 5200.001; annual re-qualification on all assigned equipment, to include: expandable baton, OC spray, and handcuffs; and CPR and First Aid certifications. Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is required during the first year of employment.Additional informationDIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. All applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application.
