Grand Banks is seeking a Dishwasher Porter, an integral part of our award-winning back-of-house team. Named "The Absolute Best Waterfront Restaurant in New York" by New York Magazine and one of the "Best Waterfront Restaurants in the World" by CNN Travel, Grand Banks features sustainably harvested oysters, nautically inspired cocktails, and awe-inspiring views.DETAILS Job Overview Position Summary Our Dishwasher Porters are integral to our operation, as they ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of their work area. Porters are professional, friendly, hardworking, and have a willingness to learn and grow on the job. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clean and sanitize all glassware and chinaComply with Crew and Department of Health established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards; observe proper food preparation and handling techniques and safety protocolsComply with Crew safety plan and standards as set forth in training materialsDispose of all trash, cardboard, etc. from kitchen and service areas as requiredExercise sound judgement taking into account safety, customer needs, and environmental factorsKeep work area neat and clean at all times to ensure DOH standards are metMaintain cleanliness of all storage areas and back of house areas by emptying trash, sweeping and mopping floors, etc.Perform daily cleaning and sanitation tasks as directedReport to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policySet up and breakdown station to specification; perform cleaning tasks at the conclusion of each service and prepare for the following serviceClean and stock bathroomsWork with venues on DOH compliance Minimum Qualifications Ability to perform essential job functions when working in a high business volume, fast-paced environmentAbility to walk, stand, andor bend continuously and for extended periods of time as required to perform essential job functionsAble to lift 50+ lbs.Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the businessOrganizational skillsPolished personal presentation; grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee HandbookWillingness to work in outdoor climate conditionsMust have a positive attitude and work well within a teamWorking proficiency of written and spoken English Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
