This is a unique, hybrid role with a focus on legal responsibilities in addition to some finance-focused operations, with a focus on building scalable operational systems across both areas. The role will be essential in guiding our strategic legal direction as well as financial this role, you will:Own basic legal and financial operations while developing processes to scale them, working closely with company leadership, our external counsel, and our accounting firmAdvise leadership on corporate governance matters, maintain proper corporate records, and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirementsDraft, review, and negotiate contracts, including vendor and partnership agreements, ensuring terms that protect the company's interestsIdentify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks across the company, working closely with product and community teamsDevelop and oversee privacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection regulations across various jurisdictions (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), working closely with our external counselManage intellectual property strategy and protection, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, working closely with our external counselOversee employment law matters and ensure compliance with labor regulations and policies, working closely with our external counselCollaborate with and manage external legal advisors for specialized legal issues as neededLead basic budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support strategic decision-making and maintain financial health, while ensuring compliance with relevant financial and tax regulationsMonitor cash flow, optimize working capital, manage expenses, and compile necessary reporting for internal purposes and board meetings to support sustainable growth, based on reporting provided by our accounting firmSupport the CEO in fundraising activities, including helping to manage investor relationsProvide strategic guidance on financial, legal, and operational performanceYou're likely a good fit if:You have a JD from an accredited law school; (CPA, CFA, or MBA a plus but not required)You've been admitted to practice law in New YorkYou have 4+ years of experience in a legal role, with ideally 1-2 years at a startup or high-growth environmentYou have demonstrated experience in corporate law, contract negotiation, intellectual property, and regulatory complianceYou have a working understanding of financial planning, accounting, budgeting, and cash flow management (prior job experience a plus but not required)You approach your work with a strategic and business-oriented mindset, focusing on practical solutions to legal, financial, and operational problemsYou pride yourself on excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesYou have strong written and verbal communication skillsWhat we offer:401(k) with up to 6% matchingComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and all your dependents (FSAs and HSA plans available)Free OneMedical membership, telehealth, and virtual mental health servicesCommuter benefits & contributions towards ClassPass and Citibike membershipsUnlimited vacation (minimum 3 weeks required)Quarterly stipend to plan your own party and dogfood the productQuarterly travel benefit & semiannual team off-sitesGet invited to exclusive partiesIn the "Additional Information" section of your application, please include a note on what's got you excited about Partiful! The salary range for this role is $165,000-$185,000 plus equity; the specific offer package will be based on years of experience.
