Lube Technician

EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTSPerform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment including oil changes lubrications and filter replacementsPerform minor repairs such as replacing head light bulbs, tailblinker lightsmarker lights tightening loose fittings, adjusting tire PSI, side mirrors.Use diagnostic equipment to identify check engine lightsCollaborate with operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs neededKeep accurate records of maintenance and repair workBe available to travel to a different BURNCO location each day if necessaryContribute to keeping areas in and around the plant clean and hazard freeEscalate concerns to supervisor as necessaryOther duties as assigned Pay Rate: $24 per hour KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESThe primary areas of responsibility include:Understand and Foster Safety CultureTruck Maintenance & Shop ReadinessAccurate Administrative Record Keeping REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and in a team environmentCommitment to safety standards and protocolsHigh school diploma and clean driving reportAbility to use a computer to log services, work orders and operate diagnostic toolsAbility to identify standard drive train items and truck chassis items (drive lines, yoke, carrier bearing, brake chambers, wheels, suspension and steering linkage, fluid levels, measure brakes and tire PSI)Ability to maintain proper attendance while working irregular hours, including Saturdays as scheduledAbility to work from other BURNCO plants on a regular basisCommitment to safety, customer service and teamwork EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCESome mechanical background experience, at home repairs, commercial lube shop, tire shops or 1 year as a lube tech for a fleet.Ability to pass Pre-Employment TestingHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred TRAVEL REQUIREMENT100% locally PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly outside and exposed to various weather conditions including hotcold temperatures and rainsnow conditions.Employee constantly uses eyehand coordination and nearfar vision.Employee frequently stands, walks, sits, climbs, bends, reaches, lifts to 50 lbs, carries up to 50 lbs, utilizes manual dexterity, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, color discernment and requires active hearinglistening.Employee is exposed to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smokes, gasses, fumes and aggregate materials.Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hats.
