Credit AnalystBanking Industry, Mortgage Lending, Queens, NYPosition Summary:To evaluate and determine the eligibility of loan applications. Including, analyzing and verifying financial documentation, loan applications, evaluating risks, and making loan eligibility decisions. The Credit Analyst will work as part of the loan review team to analyze all types of credit, including and especially the largest and most complex types of loans. They assess the appropriateness of Bank risk ratings and management's administration of loans under review. The Analyst is well-versed in financial statement analysis, banking, and credit risk rating principles. They prepare work papers and reports and may occasionally assist the Loan Review Manager in presenting reports to management or committees.Primary Responsibilities: Review PG (Personal Guarantee) and SAE (Single Asset Entity) Residential & Commercial loan applications•Familiar with ATRQM, DODD FRANK, Fannie MaeFreddie Mac Underwriting Guidelines, QM & Non-QM loansBasic Knowledge of HMDA reportingFamiliar with Mortgage Pre-Approvals and Loan EstimatesIdentifyReviewAnalyze Personal and Business returns such as: 1040, 1120C, 1120S, 1065, Trust ReturnsReview and Analyze Profit and Loss, Balance Sheets, Interim Financial Statements, etc.Review Appraisal reports Residential and CommercialAccurately compute DTI, DSCR, LTV, and CLTV ratiosReview Appraisal reports Residential and CommercialPrepare daily loan pipeline reports as neededInteract with applicantsbrokersattorneys in person, through e-mail and over the phoneInput information into the loan's origination systemCorrelate and compile the information provided and present the analysis for approval in a timely manner with a deadline in mindAssist in preparing loan files for Bank Attorneys for closingOther duties as assigned.Desired Skills & Experience:3+ years of Credit Underwriting experience in Residential and Commercial mortgage loans2+ years of experience reviewing Appraisal ReportsBachelor's degree in finance (or related field) or equivalent years of relevant work experienceMust be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookStrong computer skills - Word, Excel and EncompassUnderstanding of credit reports and credit reporting agenciesExcellent written and verbal communicationsAbility to manage relationships both internally and externallyDetail oriented, able to adhere to deadlines in a timely mannerMust follow procedures and have ability to adapt to ever-changing environment of Credit UnderwritingFull-time, office position.Local candidates preferred.
