Enhancing the client and staff experience will remain a central focus.Success in this role requires exceptional leadership to set a clear vision, inspire and motivate staff, and foster an inclusive, positive environment. Strong business acumen is essential, with expertise in budgeting, marketing, revenue generation, operations, and facility management to ensure the Center's sustainability.The ideal candidate will excel in networking and relationship-building, forging connections with partner organizations and identifying opportunities to advance the Center's mission. Adaptability and change management skills are also critical, enabling the General Manager to navigate challenges, embrace innovation, and evolve strategies in the dynamic tennis ITIAL PRIORITIES OF THE NEW GENERAL MANAGEREmbrace and execute the organization's vision and strategy in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer, maintaining transparency on results.Engage community members and stakeholders, including elected officials, schools, public housing staff, CBOs, community boards, NYPD, and FDNY.Unite all departments under the "Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning Team," ensuring alignment with the Center's mission and goals. Evaluate the Management Team's strengths, aspirations, and accountability.Be highly visible-interact with players and families to build trust and strengthen relationships.Set clear service expectations and implement hiring and training processes to maintain high service standards.Provide the Chief Executive Officer with a structured "State of the Center" report, outlining insights, recommendations, and a roadmap for short- and long-term success.Collaborate with NYJTL's Marketing team to communicate a clear vision for tennis programs across all levels, from youth to adults.KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Leadership & VisionDevelop and execute a comprehensive operating planmanual aligned with the center's mission, strategic plan, goals, and objectives.Be a visible, positive, and energized leader with a proven track record in management, preferably in the tennis industry.Exhibit superior communication, energy, and creativity to inspire staff and engage the community.Monitor market trends, evaluate competition, and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.Operational & Financial ManagementOversee daily operations, ensuring seamless registration, scheduling, and facility management.Implement efficient systems to enhance productivity, player satisfaction, and overall efficiency.Demonstrate strong financial acumen through effective budgeting, cost management, and revenue generation.Analyze key financial and operational metrics to drive sustainable growth and profitability.Develop and execute marketing strategies in collaboration with NYJTL to expand program awareness and participation.Leadership & Team DevelopmentBuild and lead a high-performing team, recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top coaching and administrative talent.Foster a team-centric, professional, and motivating work environment where staff feel valued.Set clear expectations, provide growth opportunities, and support continuous professional munity Engagement & Relationship BuildingActively engage with local schools, community organizations, law enforcement, and public agencies to promote tennis and recruit new players.Cultivate partnerships with local clubs, associations, and organizations to expand the center's reach and impact.Maintain a respectful, approachable, and diplomatic leadership style, making informed decisions while preserving strong relationships with staff, players, and community stakeholders.EDUCATIONAL AND CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONSA bachelor's degree with a focus on hospitality management or sports management is preferred.Substantial private club or hospitality experience will be considered in lieu of the degree, with a strong tennis operational background being highly dustry certifications such as DORS, RSPA, PTR, PPR are encouraged but not required.EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATIONIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.SALARY AND BENEFITSSalary is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
