The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking a full-time board-certifiedeligible Emergency Medicine Assistant Medical Director for our emergency rooms on both campuses of the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. About the Role:Act as primary physician leader on specific projects within UMMC ED's, which may encompass, but not limited to, the following: Quality and patient safetyClinical operationsRollouts of new initiatives or workflowsElectronic and physical workspace improvementsProvider documentationCoding and reimbursementAttend weekly UMMC ED leader meeting, when feasible Present at monthly UMMC ED Provider meeting, as neededDyad leaders: Vary depending on projectReporting structure:Direct leader: Senior Medical Director, UMMC Emergency DepartmentsMatrix reporting to: Medical Director(s) of UMMC East Bank ED, UMMC West Bank ED or UMMC Pediatric ED, depending on project0.1 FTE leadership. 0.9 FTE clinicalAbout the Emergency Department at UMMC:University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) is a 1,932 licensed bed facility.UMMC is a Level II Trauma Center, Stroke Center and Level I Cardiac Center.Approximately 50,000 patients are seen annually between the two campusesAverage inpatient admissions (annually): 34,497Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited ACGME Emergency Medicine residency training program. Board eligiblecertified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM).Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure. Ability to obtainmaintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota Meet threshold criteriaqualifications for Credentialing and Privileges Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff. Understands and places importance on patient careservice.
