POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Senior Director of Recruitment and Global Partnerships, the Assistant Director of Transfer Initiatives manages a designated recruitment territory primarily focused on transfer students and engages and supports prospective students in all phases of the recruitment process to advance the strategic enrollment goals. Additionally, the Assistant Director will plan, participate in, and assess the impact of transfer-focused initiatives and events to promote Columbia as a transfer destination. The Assistant Director's responsibilities also include serving as a liaison with key institutional and external partners.Flex work options available. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manage assigned recruitment territory by executing recruitment strategies for high school students, transfer students, and international students. Serve as admission liaison for prospective undergraduate students; evaluate applications, oversee process and documentation for completeness and accuracy for final admissions decisions. Initiate and coordinate ongoing communication with students, parents, and influencers via phone calls, email, etc. Assist with the execution of ongoing programs for students at all stages of the transfer process, including, but not limited to, transfer nights, institutionalregional send-offs, and any other events. Assist with improvement to these programs and development of new programs. Identify, research and draft prospective transfer guides, in addition to updating established guides annually. Oversee the transfer check process to ensure appropriate decisions and official credit evaluations are released to admitted transfer students Create presentations and workshops for transfer recruiting and other events. Aid in developing strategy and potential programming for key institutional or external partners and lead the execution of strategy and programming. Oversee assigned admissions officer(s) to help execute strategy and potential programming for key institutional or external partners. Serve as subject matter expert in the Admissions Office regarding transfer students. Maintain knowledge of the college's graduate programs and admissions processes, and assist with coverage of graduate recruitment events, as needed Serve as primary contact on financial aid for new families through the point of enrollment; direct families to the Financial Aid office, as needed Contribute to the development and execution of effective recruitment and marketing programs and material to meet andor exceed enrollment goals Maintain consistent contact with students, parents, and influencers via phone calls, email, and other methods as required, and participate in all yield activities for assigned territory. Facilitate and coordinate campus and departmental visits and activities. Develop, maintain, and communicate program-specific information and programming to key institutional and external partners Participate in strategic communication campaigns designed to attract and yield students. Provide in-office support for daily campus tours, individual appointments, and more, as needed Maintain thorough knowledge of all College programs, including academic and extracurricular programs. Actively participate in meetings to ensure existing and new or changing policies, procedures, and recruitment initiatives are communicated and implemented effectively. Aid in onboarding of new employees in the Office of Admissions. Represent the Admissions Office at community events as required. Public speaking required. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or another related field. At least three years of college student recruitment experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience; transfer student recruitment preferred. Valid driver's license. Ability to work weekends, extended work days, andor overnight travel, as required. Strong commitment to working with college students from diverse backgrounds. Detail-oriented focus with the ability to take initiative, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks with little supervision. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, particularly in matters relative to sensitive or confidential student records, personnel or organizational matters. Experience using Slate, uAchieve, andor other higher education systems or software effectively. Ability to work as part of team in a fast-paced, student-centered environment. Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills, including the effective use the Microsoft Office suite of products.
