They are located in the NYC area working on a hybrid work schedule.Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Manage and mentor a team of 3-5 accountants, providing guidance and support in daily accounting functions.Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, working closely with other departments to analyze cost control and profitability.Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process and provide necessary documentation for audit reviews.Review financial transactions for accuracy, proper documentation, and appropriate classification.Assist in tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.Support senior management with financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning.Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, operations) to drive cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiency's.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful ApplicantQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA Strongly Preferred).5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.Experience in the food manufacturing industry is a plus.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively across departments.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.High level of organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.What's on OfferCompetitive base salary + BonusHealthVisionDental insuranceGenerous PTO and paid holidays401kHybrid work scheduleOpportunities for career growth and professional development.ContactSamantha RussoQuote job refJN-022025-6658369
