Under the general supervision of the Associate Director and Director, the Deliverer of HDML is responsible for the daily delivery of meals to homebound clients. The Deliverer is required to maintain delivery records. Specific duties and responsibilities include: Deliver packed food to homebound clients and food satellitesDeliver holiday or emergency food packages to homebound clientsAssist with ensuring appropriate packing of meals to ensure proper temperatures are maintainedAssist in maintaining the cleanliness of thevehicle Record meal delivery and collect and record client contributions on route sheetsNotify thecoordinator of any changes in client status or inability to deliverAdhere to DFTA's Face to Face policy ensuring meals are delivered to the individual indicated on the route sheetLearn new routes to provide coverage when neededMove unpacked and stored food and supplies as requiredDeliver supplies and paper goods to other agency programs and subcontractorsDeliver program material and information to homebound clientsAssist with CMOW Monthly deliveriesPerform other duties as required by the supervisor of the siteCOMPETENCIESAbility to work independently on assigned delivery routes; ability to work well with others as a contributing member of a teamSelf-starter with a positive attitude; strong interpersonal skills; customer service oriented Ability to walk long distances and climb stairs as needed; Ability to liftcarry up to 30lbs and to push a shopping cartKnowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of older personsAbility to be organized with attention to detailHighly observant and aware of one's environmentBasic knowledge of and ability to understand, read, write, and speak EnglishAbility to read maps and follow printed directions; strong ability to follow instructionsAbility to manage efficiently and execute assigned tasksAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate effectively including the use of RiseBoro's communication tools i.e. MS Teams, email, etc.Basic knowledge and ability to use MS Office and other applicationsKnowledge of the Brooklyn, NY area and various communities is a plus Commitment to RiseBoro's mission, vision, and valuesAbility to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresentedcommunitiesCommitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppressionandbias(e.g. peopleofcolor, LGBTQ+people,immigrants,justice-involvedpersons, etc.)EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCESome completed High School or equivalent coursework required; High School Diploma or equivalent preferredDriver's license preferredEqual Employment Opportunity (EEO)Affirmative Action PolicyIt is the policy of RiseBoro to provide equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment.
