As a portfolio manager at Superstate, you will execute the investment strategy and manage the day-to-day operations and trading of various funds alongside the Investment Team. You will also have the opportunity to improve the tools, processes, assets, and strategies of both current and future funds. The Junior TraderPortfolio Manager will execute daily trading strategies, manage risk, and optimize returns for the Superstate Crypto Carry Fund (USCC). This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, market analysis, and collaboration with senior team members to maintain portfolio alignment with fund objectives. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced markets and has a proven interest in cryptoDeFi.What you'll doOversee a portfolio consisting of tokenized T-bills, BTC, ETH, futures and forwards, options, staked assets, cash, and stablecoinsMonitor real-time market data (price, volatility and rates) to optimize yield and risk of the portfolio Identify arbitrage, carry, and yield-generating opportunities in crypto marketsExecute spot and derivatives trades across TradFiCeFi exchanges, OTC desks and DeFi protocols using voice, electronic and algorithmic tradingImplement hedging strategies to mitigate market and counterparty risksMinimize slippage and transaction costs while maintaining liquidityForecast, reconcile, and manage the books and records of the portfolio to be always up-to-date, accurate, and actionableSettle the books and records of the portfolio and the Fund's accounts every day Work cross-functionally to identify, diligence and implement trading infrastructure and tools to optimize all facets of fund managementAnalyze performance metrics (PnL, Sharpe ratio) and report findings to senior stakeholdersProvide market commentary and actionable insights to inform fund strategyContribute to the development of fund materials including tear sheets and presentationsIdentify new investment strategies and contribute to the development of new fundsWhat you'll bring to the teamBachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a related field2+ years of relevant professional experience (eg working on a trading desk or portfolio management team)Proven track record in calculating bond yields, trading rates, managing futures or forwards, and executing options tradesTechnical proficiency with trading tools and excelIncredibly strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skillsExceptional judgment, strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills with a strong analytical mindsetIncredible level of initiative, autonomy and ability to multi-task and manage varied, changing demands at a fast-paced technology startupStrong understanding of crypto, staking, and DeFi protocolsBonus attributesRelevant graduate degreeCFACAIA certification or progress toward itTrack record of managing live capital (even in personal accounts)Experience with PMSOMSEMS systemsFamiliarity with SQL, Python, etc.Benefits & PerksCompetitive compensationGrowth opportunities to advance to Senior Portfolio Manager with autonomy over fund strategiesEquity ownershipFlexible vacation policyPaid parental leaveFull medical, dental, and vision insuranceWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
