We are seeking a Trade Compliance & Contracts Manager to join a motivated team of high-performing scientists, engineers, and technicians. This position is responsible for building, managing, and enhancing compliance activities, with particular emphasis on trade and contract compliance. The primary focus will be compliance with the regulations and standards of the U.S. Department of Commerce (Bureau of Industry and Security), the U.S. Department of State (Directorate of Defense Trade Controls), and the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Office of Foreign Assets Control).The Trade Compliance & Contracts Manager role is vital to maintaining customer satisfaction and compliance with regulatory standards. If you are looking to join a rapidly growing company that offers a dynamic, fast-paced, solution-driven prototypingmanufacturing work environment, this is the place for you!Compensation: $110k - $130k DOELocation: Sterling, VA (hybrid)Schedule: Mon - Fri, standard business hoursTrade Compliance & Contracts Manager Responsibilities:Trade Compliance ManagementEnsure adherence to U.S. and international trade regulations (EAR, ITAR, OFAC, etc.)Manage export and import compliance programs, including licensing, classifications, and documentationCollaborate with supply chain teams and others to maintain compliance throughout the product lifecycleDevelop and implement procedures to effectively manage export control activities (including restricted parties list screening, etc.)Act as the international trade compliance empowered officialContract AdministrationMaintain complete contract records and developmaintain contract management processes and proceduresMaintain oversight of contract sign-off from appropriate stakeholders and manage version control of contractsCreate contract summaries to communicate contract requirements to appropriate stakeholdersProvide guidance on the contracting process and contract interpretationNegotiate terms and conditions with vendorssub-contractorsGeneral Compliance and Risk ManagementIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with government contracting and trade complianceConduct compliance training programs for employees and stakeholdersManage relationships with regulatory agencies and external auditorsRecommend program procedures, policies, and strategies that promote the program's goals while complying with guidance and regulationsAssist internal audit team with review of processes and proceduresMaintain accurate compliance records and documentationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the organization's compliance frameworkAssist with assessment and management of conflicts of interestOversee the shipping and receiving process, including associated processes and procedures in order to ensure compliance with projectproduct requirements and regulationsTrade Compliance & Contracts Manager Requirements:Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearanceBachelor's degree in Business, Law, International Trade, or related field7+ years of experience in trade complianceIn-depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR, EAR, OFAC and applicable customs regulationsExperience working in the defense or aerospace industryTechnical export expertise in contract review, cross functional training, and business supportStrong risk assessment skillsExcellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilitiesContract administrationmanagement experience2+ years of government contracting experiencePREFERRED: Certifications such as CCEP, CICP, or CPCM Trade Compliance & Contracts Manager Competencies:Commitment to maintaining confidentiality is criticalLeadership & Team Impact: Accountability, team player commitment, strategic thinkingService Delivery: Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills & professionalism, the ability to anticipate and respond to needs, openness to change, attitude of continual improvement, strong organizational skillsJob knowledge: Risk management, effective planning, commitment to quality principles, strong written communication skills, deep regulatory understandingAutonomy, Judgment & Decision-Making: Prioritization & time management skills, creativity & critical problem-solving, ability to plan strategically, risk management skills, exceptional integrityCommitment to: Safety, Quality, Integrity, Teamwork and Impact Trade Compliance & Contracts Manager Benefits:Company offers: 70% employer paid premiums on medical, dental, and vision benefits; employer paid short and long-term disability; employer paid group term life insurance; employer contribution to your 401k; paid time off and paid holidays; paid parental leave; employee assistance program; and employer sponsored supplemental term life insurance.
