INVESTOR RELATIONS (BDIR) - VICE PRESIDENTNYC Private Equity - Investment Management FirmJ Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for an experienced and highly motivated VP of Investor Relations at a prominent NYC Private Equity - Investment Manager. An exciting opportunity to join this fast-growing and dynamic investment organization that is experiencing exceptional growth!As a Senior Member of the firm's BDIR team you will be responsible for deepening relationships with current investors and creating new initiatives to accomplish that goal. The candidate will be part of a small team with a broad set of responsibilities and play a key part in the capital retention and growth of the firm, funds, and team, and will have an opportunity to develop broad-based skills across the Business Development and Investors Relations team.The role requires a commercial skillset to oversee the existing limited partner relationships. This includes periodic update calls and meetings, facilitating responses to requests for information relating to their accounts, creating ongoing limited partner due diligence materials and generating additional capital commitments from current limited partners. It will also include the creation and maintenance of fund materials to support the communication effort.This role is dynamic and will be both internally and externally facing as it will require someone who can work well across the firm to collect information and then commercially disseminate that to investors with some support from other members of the team. Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain strong relationships with current limited partnersDeliver performance and fund updates in a commercial and timely mannerWork closely with other people other teams in the firm to prepare necessary content and reporting to disseminate to the current limited partners, including periodic investor lettersPrepare and update materials for internal groups (e.g. finance, debt capital markets, legalcompliance teams)Work closely with other members of the BDIR team to create new initiatives to deepen limited partner dialogue and raise re-up capitalThe ideal candidate would have a background including:Minimum of 8 years direct experience in investor relations in a client coverage and externally facing capacityExperience working in private investments with closed end funds (the firm is a hybrid evergreen structure with a commitment and drawdown structure)Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skillsExtremely detailed oriented and highly organizedHighly responsive and professional with a client-service demeanorDemonstrated experience in applying investment analysis and producing contentAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and take ownership in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a teamAbility to keep others and themselves on taskAbility to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to take on what's needed to support the teamProficient in PowerPoint, Excel, WordAbility to work with a CRM (InvestorFlowSalesforce)Be able to lead callsmeetings on your ownStrong attention to detail and ability to work closely with others to ensure all inbound requests are coveredTeam player with a growth mindset to lead new initiatives for efficiency and growthPotential to manage others on the investor relations teamAbility to travelEducation:Strong academic record and a bachelor's or higher degreeAn individual who loves working within the BDIR world and wants to have an outsized impact with the products and solutions they deliver.
