The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily activities related to branch operations and product processing within the company. The role involves supervising operations to ensure the efficiency and quality of processes, with specific duties including: Responsibilities: Developing Business Plans: Create and maintain operational plans, considering labor hours, cycles, costs, and program requirementsEstablishing Standards: Work with the Director of Quality to set processing and quality control standards, budgets, and cost controlsProcess Planning: Provide guidance in developing plans for staffing, materials, subcontracting, facilities, and equipmentMeeting Commitments: Ensure the organization meets cost, quality, and delivery standardsCoordinating Operations: Collaborate with other departments to optimize resource utilization (human, machine, and equipment)Monitoring Reports: Review operational reports to address processing and maintenance issues and minimize costsSafety Program: Collaborate with the Director of Safety to create and implement programs that reduce accidents and injuriesEmployee Training: Ensure compliance with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulationsQualifications:Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year institution or work related experience 5-7 years of management experience in a metals service center, or a similar environmentLean Six Sigma experienceExperience in metals processingdistributionStrong leadership, motivation, and interpersonal communication skillsProcess management expertiseProblem-solving abilitiesCapacity to handle multiple priorities effectivelyPhysical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobilityReliability: Demonstrated reliable work historyAttention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasksUnion experience strongly preferred Equal Opportunity EmployerProtected VeteransIndividuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
