Under the direct supervision of the Athletic Coordinator, serves all middle schools throughout the organization and will work in partnership with site principals and site-based afterschool coordinators to ensure a strong athletic program for each middle school.What you will need to accomplish:Mission & VisionRepresent the mission and vision of PUC Schools through daily actions in support of all stakeholdersEnsure professional adherence to all policies, procedures, and practices established by PUC Schools Employ a growth mindset related to personal professional growth and the development of othersEmbody resourcefulness, knowledge, experience, and proven sports coaching andor programming in support of studentsWork with a sense of purpose, urgency, responsiveness, openness to feedback, and professionalismUnderstand that this role is in service of all middle school sports offerings across all schools, through working with afterschool program, grant funding, and school operating budgetsAthletic Program ComplianceSupport the Athletic Coordinator to understand all compliance (i.e., league structure, afterschool grant funding, onboarding of coaches, finance compliance, and health & safety compliance) Assist in coordinating seasonal athletic offerings at each site to ensure that each middle school has a well-rounded program that is in alignment with our vision and missionAssist with sports equipment needs for each school including sizing, ordering, and collection in alignment with finance policies and school budgets determined by site principalsSupport the creation and distribution of release and liability forms, physical forms, and player dues for each middle schoolSupport distribution of all PUCAfter School Program rules and regulations paperwork: eligibility reports, coaching assignments, and school information sheetsWork collaboratively with site-based afterschool coordinators and campus operations managers to collect and store uniforms and reusable game day equipmentAttend games, support coaches, fill in as needed, and immediately reporting any incident (i.e., parent-coach, coach-student, student-student, coach-facility, etc.) to the Athletic Coordinator in support of communication and school responseAthletic Program CultureCoordinate, model, and embody the vision and mission of PUC Schools as it relates to expectations for student-athletes across all schoolsAssist the Athletic Coordinator and work with coaches to ensure that student-athletes are being developed to have strong sportsmanship, academic eligibility, and commitmentImplement student-athlete alert slips and correspondence for students and parentsAssist the Athletic Coordinator with developing coaches to ensure they are supporting expected Student-Athlete Behavior at practice, games, school, and any other school-sponsored event Report coach behavior issues immediately to the site principal for school responseAssist with coordinating athletic celebrations, tied to school spirit activities, at each school site to celebrate student-athletes per season, semester, andor school yearCollect or take athletic photos per sport per school site, in partnership with the coaches and site principals, to share photos with the site for site use (i.e., social media, promotion, school website, etc.)Coordinate strong parent communication and partnership and is available to parents, if they should want to reach out about a coach, to support questions, comments, concerns, andor needs. Responsible for connecting the parent concern back to the site principal for school site response.Coordinate strong parent participation at games and help redirect parents, if an issue presents itself, in support of the mission and vision of PUC SchoolsResponsible for connecting parent issues to the site principal for school site responseBe present at games to support with permits, coaches, or any other issues that occurAthletic Program StructureAssist with coordinating a strong structure for all middle school athletic offerings per schoolAssist with ensuring annual league participation for all middle schools across the organizationAssist school sites and organization program coordination and adjustment based on data and needsAssist with coordinating and responsible for afterschool athletic offerings for all PUC middle schoolsPerform other duties as assigned QualificationsWhat do we require from you?Minimum QualificationsEducation:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredPossess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or currently in progress preferredExperience:1-3 years of professional experience assisting a sports program through coaching, managing, coordinating, andor assisting preferredSkills and AbilitiesMust hold a Valid Driver's License and drive between both regions daily (i.e., PUC San Fernando Valley & PUC Los Angeles) Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Alignment with core characteristics required of every PUC employee: the pursuit of excellence, innovation, community, tenacity, and authenticityMust be flexible and team-orientedAble to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAble to work cooperatively with supervisors, principals, coordinators, coaches, and all other staff personnelAble to establish good relations with students, parents, and community partnersBilingual in Spanish preferredStrong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of workAbility to organize sporting events or leaguesStrong organizational skills and detail-oriented neededRegular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this positionThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below.
