Financial ControllerCedarhurst, New York$100,000 - $150,000 annually, based on prior and related work experience.Our client is a boutique law firm based in Cedarhurst, New York, known for specialized legal services and a commitment to excellence in client service. They are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial operations and provide strategic financial guidance. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of financial management in a legal context, with proficiency in financial software systems.Responsibilities:Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure financial integrity through adherence to GAAP and other regulatory requirements specific to the legal industry.Accounting Operations: Manage daily accounting activities such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger entries. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.Software Proficiency: Must be highly proficient in QuickBooks for daily financial operations, and advanced in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and data pliance and Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for accuracy and completeness. Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning to support firm growth, advising on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and cash flow management strategies.Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the accounting team, fostering an environment of professional development and efficiency.Audit Coordination: Work with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.Demonstrated expertise in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and other financial software.Strong understanding of legal billing practices and trust accounting.Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.Salary and Benefits:Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 annually, based on prior and related work petitive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.Opportunity for professional growth in a supportive and dynamic team environment.*Equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
