Although this is not an approved position, we are accepting applications for this future and anticipated need.A Spanish Bilingual Family and Children Recreation Specialist is to provide operational support for recreational and art therapeutic programming for at-risk youth. The specialist is also responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing recreational programs and activities to enhance community engagement and well-being. Duties include coordinating events, managing facilities, and promoting participation in recreational offerings. Requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and a passion for fostering a healthy and active lifestyle within the community. Compensation & Benefits:Estimated Starting Salary Range for Recreational Services Specialist: $19.23hrPay commensurate with experience.Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.Recreational Services Specialist Responsibilities Include: Exhibits cultural sensitivityhumility and provides culturally responsive programming Manages all active recreation services and facilities to provide the community with the highest level of service possible. Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily maintenance, scheduling and uses of all recreation facilities (indoor and outdoor).Ensures that programming and services are accessible and meet the needs of all individuals and abilities.ccEnsures daily age appropriate recreational programming: talent shows, arts, and youth sports. Directs development and delivery of structured children's activity daily. Facilitates ongoing communication with team-members to achieve effective and efficient program operations.Knowledge of screening and assessments related to child development and to child and care giver functioning.Document all families, staff and visitors entering and exiting the facility; complete census forms, report all incidents, and log all eventsFacilitate resident new admissions and move outsGenerate and submit nightly rosters and file all documentation relating to shift coverageProvide a professional greeting to all visitors and callers.Ensure the lobby and front of the building are always clearedPrevent loitering in all areas within and surrounding the building in conjunction with securityAssist with fire drillsemergency evacuationsAssist custodial and security staff with the maintenance and security of the facilityDistribute mail to familiesFacilitate room check and hourly roundsFacilitate the food distribution process including receiving food deliveryImplement all programmatic needs as necessary and outlined by the Site and Social Services Directors.Performs other job-related duties as assignedRecreational Services Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: Knowledge of childhood development preferred. Highly effective communication skills.Knowledge of screening and assessments related to child development and to child and care giver functioning.High School Diploma and experience in recreation preferred. Ability to development tactical and strategic plans, goals and objectives.Strong organization, planning and communication skills.Strong commitment to physical and mental education - including the ability to participate in these activities daily. Ability to lift items over 20 pounds. Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Recreation Program Coordinator, Parks and Recreation Coordinator, or Recreation Supervisor.
