We are poised to leverage our strong leadership, innovative technology, and strategic partnerships to become the go-to destination for on-premise entertainment and marketing.Position Overview:As a direct report to the Chief Financial Officer, the Tax Manager at EverPass Media, will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with various state and local tax laws, managing tax filings, and providing strategic guidance on tax-related matters. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sales, use, and income tax regulations and will support the finance and accounting teams with tax planning, reporting, and audits. This role requires strong attention to detail, a high level of expertise in tax compliance, and the ability to work cross-functionally to support business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Manage and ensure timely filing of all sales, use, and income tax returns across various states and local jurisdictions.Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure company-wide compliance with applicable tax policies.Manage relationship and projects with external tax advisors.Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions and identify potential tax savings opportunities.Lead and coordinate sales tax audits, including preparing necessary documentation and working with external auditors.Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize business decisions.Maintain detailed and accurate tax records, ensuring proper documentation for all tax filings.Support the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to streamline tax compliance processes.Monitor and assess the impact of changes in tax laws on the company and provide recommendations for adjustments.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.5+ years of experience in sales, use, and income tax compliance in a multi-state business environment. Experience in partnership reporting is a -depth knowledge of state and local tax regulations, including experience with tax filings, audits, and reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and provide practical business solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in tax software and financial systems.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite tools.Location:This position is currently a hybrid role with 2 days in the office a week. Role is based in Chicago, IL in our River North office. Will consider basing the position in our Denver, CO, or Greenwich, CT offices.Expected Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for a new hire into this position is $120,000 - $130, compliance with local law, the range above reflects the current hiring range for this position. EverPass takes into consideration the qualifications, skills, and experience of the candidate, expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. EverPass expects to hire for this position at the mid-range salary, with the possibility of considering a higher salary only in rare cases when EverPass determines an external candidate possesses exceptional qualifications significantly exceeding the job requirements.About Us:EverPass Media is a comprehensive media platform dedicated to commercial businesses, that aggregates, distributes and enables streaming of live sports and entertainment content, and offers a wide array of consumer engagement and performance marketing tools for bars, restaurants, hotels and other commercial venues.
