The Tin Building by Jean-Georges is a sprawling food emporium located inside one of New York's most historic landmarks. The Tin Building features multiple unique venues: Several full-service restaurants, fast casual, and counter dining outlets as well as 10,000 sf of retail featuring private label products, grab and go, grocery and more. To support this significant operation the Marketplace features a large commissary kitchen and bakery, as well as an exhibition kitchen that will provide media opportunities. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Server Assistant will assist servers and attend to the guests of the restaurant by upholding the quality of food, beverage, and service. This position will assist with running food, clearing dishware, and setting up tables to ensure service runs smoothly.What You Will DoAssist servers by clearing tables, setting tables, refilling beverages, and dishware, and attending to guest requests.Deliver a high-quality food and beverage dining experience to all guests.Ensure the area is well stocked and maintain the cleanliness of the workspace throughout the shift.Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after plete all assigned side work relevant to guest interactive service, in compliance with 802030 rules.Provide attentive and quality service to all guests during their dining experience.Ensure consistent communication with staff members, management, and the kitchen during the service.Maintain dining ambiance with an enthusiastic and graceful attitude.Performs other duties and responsibilities as per business need.About You1+ year Server Assistant experience in a fine dining, high volume setting andor relevant, equivalent experience preferred.Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Ability to communicate effectively and eloquently, both verbal and written.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.Physical RequirementsAbility to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative andor quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 - 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis).Ability to stand for prolong periods of time.Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property.
