They drive sales by assisting customers with their buying experience. Must be a go-getter with an aptitude for persuasive communication and a drive to succeed. Will interface with our customers, and contributing to the overall success and profitability of the store. As a high performing associate, they participate in opening and closing the showroom, but their biggest attribute is they are the strongest sales associate on the team and eager to help other sales associates become amazing. They should embrace the desire to help others get better.Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greet customers upon entranceCheck on purchase orders for customersAssess customer needs and wants; answer customer questions and concernsProvide appropriate product recommendations by understanding the Purple products and historyEnsure merchandise is in-stock and displayed on shelves in a presentable mannerUse point of sale (POS) system to conduct purchase transactionsProcess merchandise returnsAssist in product inventory proceduresCross-sell and upsell productsMemorize in-store promotions and special offers in order to communicate to customersBuild lasting relationships with customersTeam up with co-workers to ensure customer satisfactionEducate customers on new arrivals and future product arrivalsFollow opening and closing proceduresFind innovative ways to improve sales and boost revenueLead the showroom in absence of Manager or Assistant ManagerEDUCATIONEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent required2+ years of experience working in a retail environmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS Have working knowledge of computer use and common programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent interpersonal communication capabilitiesCustomer service-oriented attitudeAbility to stay organized and manage time effectivelyBasic math skillsFamiliarity with POS system a plusFamiliarity with inventory procedures a plusFriendly, approachable personalityAbility to perform and sell in a retail environmentEnthusiasm and a positive attitudeAvailable to work some weekends, nights, and holidaysBilingual in English and Spanish is a plusPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physical Activities may occasionally include: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the likeMoving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environmentsCommunicating with others to exchange informationPhysical Activities may constantly include: Remaining in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periodsMoving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to anotherAdjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions; In outlet or Hub locations the requirement is 80+ poundsRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands andor fingersOperating machinery andor power tools, depending on positionDepending on position may include operating motor vehicles or heavy equipmentAssessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assignedEnvironmental Conditions may occasionally include: Low or high temperatures; or outdoor elements such as precipitation and windEnvironmental Conditions may constantly include: Noisy environmentsOr hazardous conditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
