Whether it's executing powerful media relations strategies, launching digital thought leadership programs or developing creative campaigns to advance a specific policy issue-our team serves as trusted advisors to solve our nation's most pressing challenges.ABOUT THIS ROLEBerlinRosen is seeking a Vice President to join our Impact Team to lead strategy and manage account teams advancing fights in areas including, but not limited to, workers' rights, racial justice, economic justice, gender justice and environmental justice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to advance change through communications campaigns and mission-driven work.Role location: This role is based in our New York, N.Y. or Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid basis. The Impact team is in-office at least 3 days per week.ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONSAs a Vice Presidenton our Impact team, you will...Lead strategic conversations and advance the communications strategy for multiple high-profile client accounts to deliver results for our clientsDevelop and oversee integrated campaigns that leverage public affairs, earned media, paid media and digital tactics to reach key audiences and achieve client goalsDirectly manage and mentor staff and provide overall strategic direction and feedback for their development and client work Collaborate closely with the Impact management team to develop and inspire our team of strategists to be innovative and creativeHelp our practice win new business and proactively expand our relationshipsEssential skills:Has 6+ years of relevant experience working in political campaigns; government offices such as Capitol Hill, Executive Branch agencies, major CityState government; strategic communications; media relations; advocacy; journalism; or a related fieldIs an avid consumer of news, with a strong news sense and knowledge of the mediaExperience engaging and maintaining strong relationships with key reporters covering the top issues of the day, including topics such as labor and economic justice, racial and gender equity, immigrant rights, healthcare, climate justice and moreExperience engaging with media for both rapid response and long-lead storiesStrong written and oral communications skillsExperience managing, prepping and staffing high-touch principals, such as political candidates, elected officials or organizational leadersAbility to multi-task easily, including handling multiple assignments at once, working quickly and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to detailsHas a personal commitment to and knowledge of social justiceUnderstands organizing and advocacy communications, including social media campaigning; paid media campaigns; writing for the web (website copy, social media posts, articles etc.); engaging with local, state, or national politicsEnjoys managing people and has experience in successfully motivating, leading and mentoring a diverse team to meet objectivesNote: Interested in this role but it's not quite the right match?
