Job Description: RN - Neuro ICU (Neurological Intensive Care Unit)Location: New York, New YorkJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuro ICU team. The RN will deliver expert, compassionate care to patients with critical neurological conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other complex neurocritical cases. This position requires advanced clinical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes.Roles and Responsibilities: Specialized Patient Care: Provide advanced care for critically ill neurological patients, including monitoring intracranial pressure, administering specialized treatments, and managing life-support equipment. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Emergency Management: Respond swiftly to neurological emergencies such as seizures or changes in consciousness, ensuring timely and effective interventions. Medication Administration: Administer medications specific to neurological care, including thrombolytics and anticonvulsants, and monitor patient responses. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of patient care, assessments, and treatments in the electronic medical record (EMR) while adhering to all regulatory and hospital standards.Job Requirements: Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required. Licensure and Certification: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required. NIH Stroke Scale Certification (preferred). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an ICU setting, with at least 1 year in a Neuro ICU preferred. Experience managing neurological monitoring equipment (e.g., ICP monitors) is a plus. Skills: Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage complex and rapidly changing clinical scenarios.
