DescriptionCal Poly Pomona Enterprises Employment ServicesANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCYSUMMARY: Cal Poly Pomona Foundation is currently searching for three Undergraduate Research Assistants (10 hours per week) to work on the Concrete Masonry Checkoff Foundation-funded project title "Concrete Masonry Industry Professional Development and Student Supports (COMPASS)" under the supervision of Dr. Jeyoung Woo, Principal Investigator (PI) and Dr. Jinsung Cho, co-PI in the Department of Civil Engineering.SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):The undergraduate research assistant (RA) will assist the PI with a literature review for the project, a data analysis, and a journal articleconference proceeding writing to decrease the gaps in engineering education for transfer students and increase their success. Specifically, the RA will delve into research projects centered around the concrete masonry industry under the guidance of the COMPASS Team (Dr. Woo and Dr. Cho). The program aims to equip students with valuable research experience, which has been proven to influence their academic performance and retention rates positively.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in the Construction Engineering and Management or Civil Engineering Program at CPP PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of web accessibility requirements and toolsABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
