Green City Force seeks a Service Coordinator to lead community-transforming service projects within its award-winning AmeriCorps program. Ideal candidates are passionate about mentoring young adults as they develop the skills, teamwork, and confidence necessary for launching sustainable careers in the green sector. Service activities primarily take place at GCF Eco-Hub sites located within NYCHA developments. Service Coordinators provide structure, instruction, and accountability while fostering a positive team environment, leveraging the six-month service experience to build a lasting foundation for program participants.Location: Green City Force Astoria Eco-HubKEY RESPONSIBILITIESCorps Member Supervision: Supervise up to 12 AmeriCorps Members, including coaching, feedback, reporting, and activity tracking. Manage paperwork regarding Corps Member attendance and daily service activity hours Implement youth development models and hold members accountable for personalcareer goals via Individual Development Plans (IDPs). Hold Corps Members accountable through GCF's Progressive Discipline process, proactively escalating issues to the Program Manager. Reinforce service-learning and work readiness, leveraging Career Services resources. Collaborate with the Program Manager and Operations on scheduling and training. Assist in facilitating training during Orientation and Green City Academy Eco-Hub Maintenance Coordinate with Program Manager and Operations to ensure safe work environments and maintain Eco-Hub infrastructure. Collaborate with NYCHA staff on site safety and security. Coordinate Eco-Hub logistics (deliveries, planning, production, maintenance, composting). Collaborate with Compost Power in the implementation of Compost collection, processing and distribution at all site Implement Eco-Hub planting, maintenance, harvesting, and distribution. Community and Volunteer Engagement Serve as a liaison between GCF and community partners and individuals. Model good relations and appropriate interactions with all members of the community Lead Corps Member in the engagement and education of NYCHA residents and community stakeholders on various sustainability initiatives and programming Serve, as requested, as GCF representative at community-based meetings. Support volunteer engagement at activities at the Eco-Hub Data Collection and Reporting Document Corps Member progress, disciplinary issues, and team outcomes. Report psychosocial barriers to Support Services. Collect and report Eco-Hub and training data. Provide regular photo updates and narrative reports on Eco-Hub progress and initiatives. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum requirements: At least 1 year of direct youth development experience, with a strong preference for experience working with young adults ages 18 - 24 in low-income communities. Commitment to youth development, social and economic justice, and sustainable development; passion for Green City Force's mission. Comfortability working outdoors, in all weather conditions, and at multiple sites and completing administrative tasks remotely. Clear and compelling communication with demonstrated ability to motivate and coach young people. High level of professionalism, integrity, work ethic, accountability, and responsibility. Highly organized self-starter; ability to structure tasks, establish priorities, and set goals. Ability to solve problems, mediate conflicts and exercise sound judgment. Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and motivational skills, excellent collaborative and teamwork skills, comfortable with public speaking. Enthusiasm for, and personal commitment to, healthy sustainable living choices and maintaining a positive work environment Alumnus of Green City Force Service Corps strongly preferred, but not required. Familiarity and comfort using computer programs such as Google Drive suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms). Driver's license or permit a plus.
