LocationNew York, New YorkShift:Day (United States of America)Description:Position Summary The Vice President of Development, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Development, Chief Development Officer, is responsible for overseeing the full scope of the Development Frontline infrastructure, including Principal Gifts, Major Gifts, Leadership Gifts, and Regional Gifts. As a key member of the Development Office leadership team, the Vice President will collaborate closely with Senior Hospital Administration and the NYP Board of Trustees to achieve the Hospital's multi-year Campaign goal.The Vice President will work alongside the SVP, CDO and NYP leadership to develop and execute a strategic campaign plan that supports NYP's mission, vision and aligns with the campaign's eight key priorities. Additionally, the role involves designing and implementing a comprehensive, multi-platform development infrastructure to optimize fundraising capabilities to meet yearly fundraising targets.This individual will manage a portfolio of high-net worth donors and prospects and cultivate relationships to secure six and seven figure gifts, which support NYP's core fundraising programs.As part of the Management Team, the Vice President will also provide strategic guidance and support to the Senior Vice President, Chief Development Officer.This role will oversee and manage a team of approximately 40 fundraising professionals and responsible for hiring, performance evaluations, and promote a culture for individual and team success. Essential Job Duties Leads and implements the overall strategic planning to achieve annual and long-term fundraising goals for the enterprise. Establishes strong collaborative relationships with CEO, senior Hospital administration, senior clinicians, trustees, and others to develop and grow the donor base of the Hospital.Is instrumental in the effective communication of the Campaign's defined priorities to maximize in-plan giving for the Capital Plan's transformational collaboration with the Vice President of Development Operations and Senior Director of Communications and Donor Engagement, oversee and direct the development of Campaign collateral and marketing materials, campaign gift acceptance policies, and works with the Senior Management Teams of Facilities, Marketing, and Finance to position and maximize the use of Hospital resources to achieve the goals of the Campaign.Provides direct supervision and management of Frontline Directors overseeing the implementation and maintenance of all infrastructure aspects of the Campaign and annual fundraising goals.Cultivates and mentors internal talent, ensuring the retention and promotion of high-performing employees. In alignment with the approved Campaign staffing plan, identifies, recruits, hires, trains, and mentors staff while fostering individual and team growth and development.Develops templates and ensures brand consistency across development proposals, events, and reports, including those prepared for the CEO, President, Senior Vice President, Senior Management Team, and Trustees.Supports the Senior Vice President of Development in staffing trustee and donor campaign committees.Ensures consistency of policies across campuses and service lines for project- oriented fundraising for both in-plan and out-of-plan priorities.Serves as an effective spokesperson for the Campaign and as proxy for the Senior Vice President, Chief Development Officer in high-level meetings.Prepares and manages budgets and financial analyses. Oversees dissemination of Campaign financial reporting. Ability to travel between campuses and to external meetings as necessary. Significant evening and weekend work and some travel required.
