Job Type Full-timeDescriptionABOUT THE POSITION:UD Team is a completely unique and revolutionary school model and the position of Dean of School Culture (DSC) is equally unique. The position is responsible for implementing a consistent, positive, and pervasive school culture using a youth development framework that focuses on restorative and therapeutic approaches to behavior and discipline. The DSC is one of the key figures in the school and is responsible for the overall culture and discipline at UD Team.ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:Urban Dove Team Charter School (UD Team) is a distinctive network of sports-based high schools catering to over-aged, under-credited youth. We fuse a robust academic curriculum with sports-based youth development, ensuring our graduates receive a diploma, a stepping stone for higher education, and essential job skills.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:Foster a climate of high expectations by embodying Urban Dove Team Charter School's vision for school culture Fully embrace Restorative practices philosophy in response to student behaviorEnsure the consistent and fair administration of school policies regarding student conduct and disciplineRemain fair, decisive, professional, calm and supportive of whole-child developmentDetermine and issue consequences for student infractions, communicate consequences to all stake-holdersTrack responses to behavior and analyze trends for policiesCollaborate with students, parents, and staff to take necessary action in behavioral concernsManage and uphold school behavioral expectationsServe as a resource to staff regarding student management issuesOpenly and regularly communicate with staff and parentsguardians regarding student behaviorBe highly visible to students and foster positive, supportive relationships with themExcellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to engage students, parents, colleagues, and community members in supporting youth developmentClosely collaborate with school leaders to maintain a positive, safe school cultureCooperate with instructional and guidance teams to implement student supports and interventionsPlan and lead professional development sessions focused on classroom and school-based interventions that build student's positive character traits, sense of personal and shared responsibility, and ability to self-reflect.Be available via phone andor email throughout the evening and weekend to communicate with families and school leadersAttend school events like awards ceremonies, enrollment nights, school productions, and Parent Teacher Conferences.Model and exemplify all school core values at all times RequirementsBachelor's DegreeDemonstrated ability to "multi-task" and deliver high quality workCommitment to the UD Team mission and core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication Commitment to the use of restorative practices and a strength-based, youth development approach to student issuesAbility to function well as part of a team and work independently Must be team-oriented, with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a passion for serving at-risk youth, and a sense of humor OUR MISSION:Urban Dove energizes, educates, and empowers young people through our network of UD Team Charter Schools serving over-ageunder-credited high school students.
