Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.The Refugee Services Programs provide resettlement and cultural adjustment support, refugee health promotion services, wellness groups, job training, placement and transitional support services to refugees and asylees during their 60 months of eligibility in the United States to help with any impediments to employment and self-sufficiency.Position: TraumaCrisis Intervention CoordinatorReports To: Program ManagerLocation: 2244 Church Avenue, 4th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11226 What The TraumaCrisis Intervention Coordinator Does:Manage, create, develop and implement workshops and trainings on trauma informed topics including mental health first aide specific to the current refugee population.Provide short-term crisis intervention counseling, de-escalation when needed via phone, zoom andor in person.Provide health education, health resources andor referrals for clients as put client data and client progressservice information into automated database.Lead group counseling and psycho-education sessions to enhance social development and psychological education of individual participants and provide peer support.Provide group counseling services to assist clients and their families to achieve healthy relationships, emotional stability, personal development andor anize onsite and offsite training opportunities for professional development of staff in Refugee Services and Workforce Development.Coach staff on appropriate incident response interventions.Administer evaluation tests andor assessment instruments.Participate in teamstaff or other agency meetings as requested.Monitor and meet goals related to established service projections.Provide all required information for weeklymonthlyquarterlyannual reports.Provide direct client service in addition to the above.Plan, coordinate and facilitate socialpeer support events, including group facilitation for clients.Minimum EducationExperience Required:Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.), Master's in Social Work (MSW) preferred.Other Requirements:Three years of applicable experience.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT, and Outlook).Excellent written & verbal communication.Bilingual highly preferred in Creole, Ukrainian, FarsiDari, Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic, or Mandarin (prioritized according to current program needs).Compensation: $68,000 annuallyWhen salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate.
