Position SummaryThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for the leadership and successful execution of a project from inception (job launch) to completion (final customer acceptance) within a defined budget and scope. The Senior Project Manager motivates and leads their team(s) to jointly reach all project goals, while increasing SRC's profitability and securing repeat business with customers. This position requires supervisory responsibilities for projectsTravel Required: Up to 40%Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesLead domestic and international projects through all milestone phases pre-launch through project closure while inspiring confidence in the team and management Facilitate relationship between customer and SRC, strengthening relationship through the life of the project by providing exemplary customer service and communicationDetermine a project budget after collaboration with Manager of Order Process and Planning, Sales and Engineering, and manage projects to achieve or exceed profit expectations Collaborate with the Manager of Order Process and Planning as a strategic partner to address any issues that could affect project financials; meet regularly with Manager of Order Process and Planning and Resource Managers to monitor project progress and budget limits, coordinate with the Manager of Order Process and Planning to monitor, document, and continuously manage project risks and opportunities and document and drive actionrecovery plans as requiredConstruct project timelines, monitor and manage those timelines to achieve all delivery milestones Organize project meetings, issue minutes, track and report project progress with team members and follow up on action items Facilitate the team in reviewing milestones, examining potential operational issuesrisks, outlining and proposing solutions and identifying actions Establish and maintain long term, positive working relationships with internal team members, customers and suppliers; serve as a liaison between internal management and project team members Direct engineers in the successful delivery of technical projects, while managing several projects simultaneously Manage all project variations in a timely manner, ensuring clear agreement is reached with customers Assist in achieving SRC's strategic objectives by aligning resources with goals and pursuing opportunities that meet the department's objectives Follow all Durr Schenck RoTec Inc. company policies and procedures diligently and effectivelyNon-Essential FunctionsGeneral computer proficiency is required.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Business Discipline or 5 - 7 years of Project Management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment Experience with the use of Microsoft Office programs, such as Project, Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, Power-point, etcAbility to maintain data within current ERP system; proficiency with SAP preferred 2-4 years working knowledge of manufacturing type contracts, preferably in the machine tool, automation andor industrial washer industries 2-4 years working knowledge of equipment, process, and commonly used design practices for Balancing Equipment and AutomationBasic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls and software engineering terms and principalsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to adapt to tight timelines, work with limited resources and still deliver on time and within scope Ability and willingness to learn about new products and components quickly and effectively in order to meet deadlines and budget restrictionsExcellent oral and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of SAP, Excel and other computer-based software programsProficient in project management, with high analytical and organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, to organize and prioritize tasks, make appropriate decisions, and be comfortable in a setting where schedules and priorities change daily Understand and possess the ability to communicate technical concepts to other team members and customers Ability to work with little direction andor supervisionBasic understanding of accounting and finance principals Special Position RequirementsRequires excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to find ways to work under pressure and still make deadlines without cutting corners or endangering the safety of himselfherself or others, or the integrity of the equipment and the employer as a wholeRequires ability to interact professionally with customers and suppliers who may, occasionally be difficult to deal withIntermediate leadership capabilities and an ability to work with all levels of an organizationAbility to resolve conflict while keeping relationships intact Domestic and International travel to customer sites which may include weekends and holidays Physical DemandsManual dexterity for the ability to type, file, use phoneStanding, walkingMust be able to hear and speakSitting for extensive periods of timeMust be able to use a telephone and communicate verballyThis position involves reading, writing, mathematics, and measuringAbility to lift at least 25 pounds, as well as ability to climb, stand, stoop, or kneel for extended periods of timeWork EnvironmentWork primarily done on in an office environmentOccasionally walks into shop area where possible exposure to hazards such as electrical equipment, cranes, forklifts, high voltage, chemicals, biohazards and manufacturing equipment
