Job Description: RN - NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)Location: New York, New YorkJob Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Cardiac NICU. This position is ideal for a nurse experienced in neonatal critical care who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The NICU RN will provide specialized care for critically ill newborns, ensuring the highest standards of care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.Roles and Responsibilities: Critical Care for Newborns: Deliver advanced nursing care to critically ill neonates, including those with cardiac conditions, utilizing specialized equipment and monitoring systems. Collaborative Care: Work closely with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Family Support and Education: Provide education and emotional support to families, keeping them informed about the care and progress of their newborns. Floating Responsibilities: Float to other NICU or related units within the hospital, as required, based on acuity and skill set. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, adhering to hospital policies and standards.Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Licensure and Certification: Active New York State RN license. American Heart Association (AHA) certifications: BLS and ACLS for critical care units. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent NICU experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center or large academic hospital. Cardiac NICU experience is highly desirable. Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, proficiency in EMR systems, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with confidence and compassion. Schedule: Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Call Requirement: None. Float Requirement: Yes, to units appropriate for skill set and within acuity. Why Join Us?
