Join us!Finance Operations TeamWe are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our Finance Operations Team. This Vice President-level role will support the Assistant Controller and will be integral in managing daily accounting functions, including accounts receivable and managing all tax compliance within our organization. The Accounting Manager will work closely with external tax advisors, and assist with various projects, ensuring continuity and accuracy in our accounting processes.This role will be based in our NYC office and is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely 2 days a week, blending the best of both worlds for efficiency and collaboration. Ideal candidates should be local to the desired location (NYC).This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.What You'll Do:Daily Accounting OperationsOversee and manage day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and proceduresPrepare and enter journal entries (JEs) accurately and timelyProvide support and guidance to team members, facilitating their professional developmentCollaborate with the Assistant Controller for the review and quality control of accounting entries and financial reportsAudit SupportAssist the Assistant Controller and Controller with audit preparations, ensuring all documentation is organized and readily accessibleHelp coordinate with external auditors during the audit process, responding to inquiries and providing necessary information and supportAccounts Receivable ManagementLead and manage the Accounts Receivable (AR) team, ensuring effective collection and reporting processesWork closely with the AR team to monitor aging reports and resolve discrepanciesProject SupportAssist with month-end close responsibilities, filling in for the Assistant Controller and performing related tasks as needed to ensure timely and accurate reportingSupport various accounting projects and special initiatives, including process improvements and system implementationsManage ad hoc reporting requests related to financial performance and complianceParticipate in cross-functional projects that require accounting expertise and inputTax Compliance and ReportingManage the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returnsEnsure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulationsMaintain organized records of all tax compliance documents, correspondence, and filingsSupport ad hoc reporting requests related to tax compliance and auditsIdeally, You Have:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plusMinimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on accounts receivable and tax compliance and coordinationStrong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAPStrong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirementsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesProficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plusStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholdersExcellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail; ability to learn and work with scalable systemsIdeally, You Are:Excited to be part of a growing team, with a focus on driving future growthPassionate about delivering exceptional client serviceKnowledgeable about the relationship between Private Equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, particularly within the office of the CFOWilling to get your hands dirty in the details of a project while simultaneously seeing the whole pictureComfortable managing projects with multiple complex workstreams while also focused on your single workstream (you are managing and doing)A self-starter with a strong work ethicFull of entrepreneurial spirit and comfortable in a fluid, flat organizationAble to effectively communicate complex issues and solutions, and raise issues to senior team members when necessaryA team player, able to work with team members across all levelsSomeone who enjoys mentoring others and doing meaningful workA leader of others; you lead by exampleSalary: $130,000 to $150,000 + benefits + bonusActual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.Accordion is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
