Job DetailsJob LocationBronx, NYPosition TypeFull TimeSalary Range$85,000.00 - $90,000.00 SalaryyearDescriptionPOSITION: Assistant Director of Operations - Safe Haven for Children Program TFC 2REPORTS TO: Director of Safe Haven for Children ProgramCLASSIFICATION: Full Time (Management Team) EXEMPTNON-EXEMPT: ExemptGENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Safe Haven for Children Shelter and Transitional Foster Care Program is a 24-hour program serving UAC in immigration custody who are awaiting release to their sponsors. The Assistant Director of Operations will, among other duties, assist the Program Director in planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring the program to ensure compliance with contractual, federal, state, and local requirements and laws.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE:Supervises and supports Administrative Assistants, Shift Leaders, Lead Case Manager, and other program staff via individual sessions, group supervision, staff meetings, and in-house trainings.Monitors staff fulfillment of routine and additional assignments.Assists Program Director in ensuring compliance with funder standards, relevant laws and regulations.Assists Program Director in ensuring that client records are audit-ready at all times via in-house audits.Assists Program Director in preparing weekly schedules to ensure sufficient staffing of program.Approves time cards, changes in schedule; monitors staff attendance. Completes monthly calendar of events and schedules client activities. Assists Program Director in recruiting, appointing, developing and evaluating all vacancies.Reviews progress notes of direct reports, including monitoring compliance with ORR expectations.Reviews incident reports submitted to Program Director and helps determine appropriate responses.Ensures consistent enforcement of program rules for minors and staff. Coordinates staff trainings, team meetings, supervision; cultivates opportunities for professional development.Participates in intake process, including screening of residents for safety and trafficking.Assists in Human Resource matters, orderingmonitoring of supplies, petty cash custodial duties, and other tasks related to program functioning.Works in collaboration with other departments, agencies and institutions to maximize scarce resources.Regularly assesses the safety and well-being of all clients.Develops, recommends, implements policies and procedures to ensure effective operation of program.Serves as liaison for on-site resources for program minors and serves as program representative for off-site resources; develops relationships within the community.Represents Lutheran Social Service of New Yorks mission, values, ethics; upholds agency Code of Conduct; and ensures adherence to agency policy and procedures by social service staff.On-call 24 hours.Other duties as required by direct supervisors or needs of the programagency.SUPERVISES: Shift Leaders, Lead Clinician, Head Teacher, Lead Case Managers; volunteers; interns as neededEDUCATIONEXPERIENCE: Masters Degree in Social Work or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science; or Bachelors Degree in one of the aforementioned sciences, plus five years progressive employment experience demonstrating advanced levels of financialmanagerial responsibilities.SKILLS & ABILITIES:Bilingual in English and Spanish; strong verbal and written communication skills.Displays time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments at once.Available to work some holidays and weekends.Exhibits strong leadership, clinical, administrative and supervisionmanagement skills.Exhibits proficient knowledge of Internet Navigation, E-mail, and Microsoft Word.QualificationsEDUCATIONEXPERIENCE: Masters Degree in Social Work or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science; or Bachelors Degree in one of the aforementioned sciences, plus five years progressive employment experience demonstrating advanced levels of financialmanagerial responsibilities.SKILLS & ABILITIES:Bilingual in English and Spanish; strong verbal and written communication skills.Displays time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments at once.Available to work some holidays and weekends.Exhibits strong leadership, clinical, administrative and supervisionmanagement skills.Exhibits proficient knowledge of Internet Navigation, E-mail, and Microsoft Word.
