Principal Responsibilities:Responsibilities:Planning for and conducting OASAS EBP groupsEnsuring correct documentation and input of dataEvaluating and collecting data as needed for annual reportingObserving children, teachers and overall classroom dynamicEvaluating and making suggestions for additional servicesSupplying techniques and strategies that support optimum early childhood classroom successAiding in crisis management of children with difficult behaviorsMeeting with familiesparents when requestedWeekly classroom meetingsEvaluations or referral servicesSupporting planning and implementation of workshops and support groupsAiding in crisis management for children in afterschool programs and aiding other H.E.S. membersAiding and supporting all H.E.S. programs, as requestedWork with Director on ensuring correct documentation is provided in the internship programAssist Director in weekly supervision sessions of the interns to ensure growth, support, and structure of each internWork closely with the Pantry staff in assessing the needs for participants, make referrals if necessaryOrganizing and running evidence-based discussion groups aimed at prevention of at-risk behaviorsCounseling services and behavioral management training to children, parents, families, and staffEncouraging and supporting protective behavioral, social, and critical-thinking skills to reduce risks for drug abuse, violence, and other problem-behaviorsRole-modeling effective problem-solving, decision-making, and assertiveness skills to children in a community setting Liaising with managerial, administrative, and direct service staff to promote agency goals and standards at an organizational levelKeeping accurate and organized notes on group outcomesMinimum Qualifications:QualificationsMSW required3-5 years experience with children or Social Work, requiredExperience in facilitating groups with children either in a school, treatment center, or private settingAbility to learn and run scripted or structured programming in a small groupAbility to manage differing needs of children in a fast-paced environmentUse of behavioral modification in order to reinforce rulesTime management skillsAccurate record keepingKnowledgeable and sensitive to the cultural needs of the target populationsEnjoy working as a member of a collaborative, interdisciplinary teamSalary:$50000 Agency Information: Agency DescriptionThe Hebrew Educational Society, a thriving multi-service, comprehensive community center located in southeast Brooklyn, provides a diverse array of programs and services within a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment that is inclusive of people of all ages and ability levels.
