DescriptionThe Student Program Assistant will work with the Admissions Coordinators for the English Language Institute to provide administrative support to the English Language Institute (ELI) within the division of Professional Education and Special Programs. In addition to performing miscellaneous clerical duties, the Student Program Assistant will also be required to answer phones and greet visitors to the office, taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary. They will also be required to assist with various department projects as assigned.This is an on-campus position with flexibility for some remote work with supervisor approval on a case-by-case basis. The Student Program Assistant will be required to work during the Summer semesters as well as the Spring and Fall semesters.Responsibilities Include:Greet and assist current or prospective studentsAnswer a wide variety of questions related to the department's procedures and other general questions (training will be provided)General clerical duties as assigned, including data entry, sending student placement tests, following up with prospective students, etc.Assist with responding to student inquiries via email, phone, text messaging, etc.Assist the English Language Institute (ELI) and International Special Programs (ISP) Teams as necessary with the fulfillment of application processing, maintaining prospective student and applicant data, and other tasks related to the admission of students to the ELI.Participate in ELI Orientation and Open Houses as an ambassador for Pace University Provide campus tours to new studentsCapture student life through photos and videos at department eventsManage distribution and reporting of course evaluations through Qualtrics in support of the Associate Director of AcademicsType letters and memos for Admissions DepartmentCreate and distribute certificates of completion for studentsAssist administrators with copying jobsAssist administrators with inquiry and enrollment databasesMaintain security of student and department recordsPosition Qualifications:Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelAbility to handle confidential information in a discreet mannerStrong written and verbal communication skillsReliable and patient with visitorsOffice experience a plusAbility to work independentlyBilingual preferred (EnglishSpanish or EnglishRussian), but not requiredShould be fluent in English with good spelling and telephone skillsProgram Assistants are expected to maintain friendly working relationships with any department or office they come into contact with. They will most commonly work with Document Services, Educational Media, and Student Accounts.Expected to provide friendly and efficient customer service to prospective and current ELI students.Strong customer service and organizational skillsRequirementsProficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelMust be able to handle confidential information in a discreet mannerStrong written and verbal communication skillsReliable and patient with visitorsOffice experience a plusAbility to work independentlyStrong customer service and organizational skills
