DescriptionPay Range: $16.50-$18.00 hourlyUnder both the Store Supervisor and Lead Cashier supervision, the Cashier performs the following duties:TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProvide excellent customer serviceAccurately use computerized register to charge customers for merchandiseBag groceries, being sensitive to the needs of customersMemorize bulk and produce codesGeneral merchandising activities, including stocking and facing productsWhen cashiers are not checking out customers, Mother's expectation is that they be cleaning, restocking, and looking for and engaging customers who are ready to check outTake special orders of products from customers and following up with department managers to get products inFacilitate ordering products for special ordersKeep register station and computer clean, dry and free of dustStock and face product, checking prices on existing and new stock for consistency with shelf labels, and marking shelf labels with blue chips if inconsistencies are foundMaintain awareness of safety and securityAssist other employees as neededOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATION GUIDELINESAny combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:TrainingEducation:A High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificateExperience:Customer service experienceCashiering experience a plus Ability to:Read, comprehend and relate product knowledge to customers in an understandable mannerSimple arithmetical calculationsWork in an accurate manner in a fast-paced environmentCommunicate orally and in writing with supervisors, co-workers and customersPhysical RequirementsWorking Conditions:Stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)Constant typing on touchscreenConstant pushpull of product across scannerAnswering phonesFrequent cash handlingClimb ladders, squat, bendLift and carry boxes and crates up to 50 poundsExtend arms overhead and reach for products and boxesSpecial Requirements:Must be available to work various shifts as neededThis job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the performance of this job.
