Overview:Clinical: Providing excellent care through preventive medicine and the ability to detect a potential decline to avoid crisis. This is done through day-to-day involvement, meaningful and purposeful rounding, and impromptu huddles as necessary, utilizing clinical judgment and critical thinking, while engaging all nurses, CNAs, and other disciplines in the process.Managerial: Clearly defined expectations (with proper training) and accountability will drive staff to perform at their highest capacity with satisfaction.Supervise, evaluate, guide, instruct, and foster the growth and development of staff on all shiftsAdjust schedule accordingly to support all three shiftsPrepare assignments of nursing personnelDelegate responsibilities with clear expectations and conduct routine meetings with unit staffAudit continuously and evaluate the quality of nursingunit practices.Assess, create, and deliver corrective action plan if necessaryStaffing: Creating a team environment of responsibility, passion, and focus where employees from all shifts feel a united front to care for our residents. A positive and nurturing environment is key to retaining employees.The ideal candidate will:Have proven clinical and managerial experience with driving high-performing nursing teamsHave prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility or long-term careExperience with SigmaCare (preferred, but not required)Be a graduate from an approved school of nursingHave an active RN license for New York StateACLS and BLS requiredCPR certification
