We foster an open, diverse, and inclusive team culture, that is engaged and well-supported for prosperity and enjoyment of a lifework balance.What We Offer You A diverse and inclusive environment that embraces change, innovation, and collaborationA hybrid working model, allowing for in-office work from home flexibility, generous vacation, personal and volunteer daysEmployee Resource Groups support an inclusive workplace for everyone and promote community engagementCompetitive compensation packages including health and wellbeing benefits, retirement savings plans, parental leave, and family building benefitsEducational resources, matching gift and volunteer programsWhat You'll Do Support the Head of Sanctions Advisory in protecting Deutsche Bank from legal, regulatory and reputational risk with regard to business involving sanctioned entities andor countriesProvide expert sanctions guidance on complex matters to the Business, as well as more junior colleagues, Continuously monitor relevant sanctions changes and propose actions based on materiality assessment of such changesEnsure diligent review of transaction-related requests and decide on these in full compliance with all applicable sanctions regulations as well as the Bank's policies and procedures, Provide expert guidance on sanctions matters related to deal team activities, including review of deal sanctions risks, assessment of legal clauses and effective representationsReviewdecide on the adoption of new or existing clients with complex sanctions exposure, Support in the derivation of training needs related to sanctions matters, particularly those related to Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulationsSupport as key subject matter expert to teams handling sanctions-relevant reporting obligations, Investigate and respond to inquiries from regulatory authorities as well as internal or external auditors and business lines regarding embargo and sanctions observance, including matters that may need disclosure to OFACHow You'll Lead Interacting with Global Sanctions Policy & Governance colleaguesInteracting with regional Sanctions Advisory Leads in the UKI, GermanyEMEA and APAC regionsInteraction with key business leaders and other control functions across financial crime on relevant sanctions topicsSkills You'll Need Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required; JD or Master's degree strongly preferredExtensive experience with large financial institution in compliance, legal or financial crime function. Expertise in sanctions regulations is required, with a focus on OFAC, as well as knowledge of EU and UK sanctions regimesExcellent written communication & presentation skillsAbility to work across geographic & cultural boundaries to achieve organizational goals & objectivesAbility to make decisions independently and escalate urgent matters to senior leaders with the appropriate key factsSkills That Will Help You ExcelLegal qualificationsexperience highly desirableAbility to prioritize requirements to achieve regulatory or audit requirementsStrong, independent self-starter & problem solver, collaborative team playerDetail oriented and organized, as well as proactive in follow up on pending deliverablesExpectationsIt is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.Deutsche Bank provides reasonable accommodations to candidates and employees with a substantiated need based on disability andor religion.The salary range for this position in New York is $125,000 to $203,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
