For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness. Our Early Childhood Development Centers provide free Early Head Start and Head Start services to low-income families. Head Start provides services to children age 3 to 5 years old. Through the Montessori approach, the center ensures children are ready for school by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, language-literacy and physical development.STATEMENT OF THE JOB:The Head Start (HS) Family Services Coordinator is responsible to coordinate parent involvement and education programs. Under direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Family Services Coordinator will directly supervise Family Assistants and Family Workers providing on-going guidance and support. Responsibilities include but not limited to coordinate recruitment and registration efforts of perspective clients; maintain all intake data; attend and participate in all family related matters; assist families in with family related matters and concerns. •Maintains a yearly updates community resources binder, in agreement with the demographic changes within the community.•Plans and implements appropriate orientation into the Parent Education Program and Parent Involvement Program for new families. •Coordinates recruitment and registration of new families.•Responsible for ensuring the completion and organization of the reports.•Provides assistance to families.•Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:•High School Diploma or its equivalent. •B.A. in Human ServicesSocial Work preferred.•Family Development Credential preferred•Two years of experience in a human services related field; preferably in an early childhood setting. •Knowledge of consolidates databases preferred.•Must have the knowledge and ability to relate to Funding Source Families, staff, board, community in which applicant will serve. •Bilingual SpanishEnglish; RussianEnglish; ChineseEnglish; KoreanEnglish; EnglishCreole speaking preferred.•Must be able to occasionally lift andor move up to 30 pounds. •Able to travel to different locations throughout the five boroughs including but not limited to conducting Home visits.BENEFITS:We offer competitive salary and excellent benefits including:•Generous time off (Vacation Personal Days Sick Days Paid Holidays annually)•Medical,•Dental•Vision•Retirement Savings with Agency Match•Transit•Flexible Spending Account •Life insurance•Public Loan Forgiveness Qualified Employer •Training Series and other additional voluntary benefits.For more information on our organization, please visit our website at:EOEAA.
